MUSCAT: His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health said that the only solution to control the spread of novel coronavirus is social distancing.
“If you want to control the spread of the virus, the only way to do it is to break the cycle of transmission by practicing social distancing,” he said during an interview with Oman TV on Sunday evening.
According to Al Saidi, if early preventive measures were not taken, the number of coronavirus cases in the country would have touched 20,000. “That is based on our assessment. And thankfully we are equipped to deal with such situations today,” he added.

He said that most infected cases in Oman are under the age bracket of 16 to 59 years.
