MUSCAT: Around 12,642 people are currently under domestic quarantine in Oman, according to His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health.
Speaking in an interview with Oman TV, Al Saidi also said 1,713 people are under institutional quarantine. “We are doing our best to reduce the number of infected cases,” he said.

According to Al Saidi, if early preventive measures were not taken, the number of coronavirus cases in the country would have touched 20,000. “That is based on our assessment. And thankfully we are equipped to deal with such situations today,” he added.
He said that most infected cases in Oman are under the age bracket of 16 to 59 years.
Oman on Sunday confirmed 167 cases of coronavirus in the country.
