MUSCAT: About 9,500 people have been quarantined so far in Oman and the number of infected cases is likely to increase in the coming days, according to His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Hosni, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health.
In an interview with Oman TV, Al Hosni also revealed that the country has entered community transmission stage (stage 3). “We have entered stage 3 of coronavirus which is community transmission and we expect to see the cases increase over the coming period,” Al Hosni said on Thursday.
According to Al Hosni, social distancing is the only way to reduce the number of people being infected with the virus.
