MUSCAT: If you’re having Coronavirus and failing to report it to the authorities or if you’re not following quarantine guidelines, you will face a maximum 12 months of imprisonment and a fine not more than OMR 10,000.

This decision comes from the Supreme Committee after His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq classified the novel coronavirus as a communicable disease through a Royal Decree.

“Whoever fails to report a contagious disease, shall be punished with imprisonment for a period of no less than three months and not exceeding a year, and a fine of no less than RO1,000 riyals and no more than RO10,000, or one of these two penalties,” as per the Royal Decree 32/2020.
