MUSCAT: Several churches in Muscat are being closed in a step to stop the spread of coronavirus, it was announced on Sunday.
In notices to worshippers, the Ghala Parish Church said it will close the church from Monday until further notice.“As per the Ministry directive, the Church will be closed from tomorrow till further notice. Today’s masses at 5:30pm and 7:15pm will be conducted. Please continue your personal prayers for this Country and for whole the world,” the message from Ghala Parish Church said.
According to sources Muscat Catholic Church will be closed for one month.

As per the message send to worshippers, the Catholic Church in Muscat said all group services and activities were postponed until further notice. “There will be no Masses or any other activities in the Church. The Church gates will be locked,” the Church said in the notice.
Oman have so far reported 20 cases of coronavirus cases in the country, while the government has taken several preventive measures including suspending classes in schools and colleges for one month.
