MUSCAT: Colour plays an important part in the final selection process when it comes to buying a car. What colour do you prefer while buying a car? Well, white is the most popular choice of car colour in Oman.
According to a survey by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), there are around 669,859 vehicles sporting white colour in Oman. Many studies also note that white cars hold significantly more value when compared to other car colours.
Silver was the second choice, with 197,141 of the total vehicles painted in silver colour. Gray is the third most prominent vehicle colour, with about 115,758 vehicles. Blue, black, gold and red-coloured vehicles with 89,721; 74,705; and 71,883; and 67,260, respectively followed this.

According to NCSI survey, there are 1.55 million vehicles registered in the country as of January 2020. Private vehicles topped the list of vehicles registered, with 1.20 million vehicles, followed by 246,915 commercial vehicles and 31,385 taxis. Meanwhile there was a drop in the number of taxis, government vehicles, and motorbikes registered by 11.2%, 0.8% and 0.3%, respectively.
