MUSCAT: As the government on Wednesday launched its plan to build Muscat Airport City, the mega project will change the face of Oman’s aviation sector, according to His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport.
Speaking to the media after launching the project, Futaisi said: “This is a big milestone in the aviation sector. It will certainly change the face of the aviation sector and will bring in huge growth,” he said.

The Muscat Airport City will have a freezone with an area of 3.3 million square meters, a 200,000 square meters of logistics area, and a business, aviation and hospitality spaces.

“Muscat Airport City will act as an agent for economic growth as well as social wellbeing,” Futaisi added.
