Muscat: The cold wave in Oman, which has brought temperatures down in the Hajar mountain range, is likely to continue for the coming weeks, an official at the Meteorology Department told The Arabian Stories.
The official added Jabal Shams had recorded temperatures of 4 degrees Celsius on Thursday. “That’s the minimum temperature recorded in Oman this week,” he said.
According to the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) there are chances of dust rising in open areas in some parts of the country. “Mainly clear skies over most of the Sultanate with existence of clouds over parts of Al Hajar Mountains and coastal areas of Oman Sea with chances of dust rising winds over deserts and open areas. Chances of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog patches over Al- Dahirah and Al-Wusta governorates,” PACA said in a statement.
