Muscat: Muscat will receive heavy rainfall  in the next six hours, according to Oman’s Public Authority of Civil Aviation.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, PACA has urged people to stay indoors as heavy rainfall will continue to lash across the country including Muscat.

“There is to be continued heavy rains of varying abundance, over the coasts of the Sea of Oman, with the majority of it being concentrated over the governorates of Muscat and South Ash Sharqiyah, particularly near Ras Al Hadd, during the next six hours, which will cause wadis to fill up and overflow, leading to moving debris and formation of stagnant pools of water.”

“People are advised to avoid going near sea, while all fishing expeditions must be cancelled,” the statement added.

Earlier, on Wednesday morning heavy rain in Muscat brought chaos on as motorists battled flooding and traffic jams.
