MUSCAT: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has called on supermarkets, sales and distributors of foodstuffs to open its doors for citizens and residents during the three-day mourning period and provide supplies to them.
Oman declared a three-day mourning period starting Sunday, January 12, following the passing of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. However, in a statement issued by OCCI in cooperation with Ministry of Commerce and Industry has asked shops to be opened to serve the needs of the people.
Public and private sector office including educational institutions will remain closed till Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
