Let me offer my humble homage and tributes to the memory of late Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al Said, the architect of modern Oman and the most influential and visionary leader the Middle East have seen in the modern era.

As an expat engaged in Oman’s higher education sector, I was fortunate to spend nearly three decades in this blessed land, during His Majesty’s glorious stewardship, and experience the benefits of His Majesty’s benevolence and progressive measures. I offer my sincere and heartfelt condolences to the people of Oman and earnest prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Let me also express my heartiest congratulations to the new Sultan, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, a worthy successor, well known for his erudition, wisdom and vision.

We can confidently look forward to Oman’s continued march towards progress in the days ahead, preserving its prestigious position as an oasis of peace and stability in the region and a peace-maker at the international level.
