MUSCAT: A court in Oman has ordered nine judgements against a domestic recruitment agency and permanently shutdown the office after it breached the consumer protection law.
The First Instance Court in Bahla issued nine judgments against the accused for violating the Consumer Protection law, after firm refused to refund customers who paid an advance to help them hire domestic workers via the agency. According to complaints received by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP), the company refused to refund the money even though it was unable to secure them domestic workers within the contractually obligated timeframe.

“The court also ordered the agency to pay the fine of OMR 900 for violating the consumer law.,” the statement added.
