MUSCAT:
Starting from January 1, 2020, all government agencies in Oman including the Ministry of Health (MOH) will only accept payments electronically.

This decision comes following instructions issued by the Ministry of Finance, which stated that revenues must not be collected in any other way.

“In fact, not just Ministry of Health but also other government agencies have been instructed by Finance ministry to accept electronic payments for their services,” said an official at Ministry of Finance.

In a statement issued earlier, the Ministry of Finance had informed that the government will bear the one-percent commission of the fee paid to the banks and would not pass the same to the citizens and residents.
