Muscat: The Indian School Muscat Alumni (ISMA) is hosting its Annual Football Tournament on January 24, 2020 at the Indian School Muscat grounds from 2pm onwards. This year’s edition is poised to be more competitive and bigger, with 4 Alumni Team and 2 ISM Student teams competing with each other.
Indian School Muscat Alumni (ISMA) was established in 1997 and currently has over 40,000 alumni spread across the globe. ISMA’s goal is to bring the alumni together and give back in a meaningful way to their alma mater. Through this tournament, ISMA hopes to raise awareness and donations for its KINDLE initiative, where they provide a platform to help fund the education and advancement of children from low-income families. All proceeds from this tournament goes towards their scholarship fund that is awarded to the deserving students and paid directly to the student fee accounts.
During 2018 and 2019, ISMA hosted 4 sporting events and the proceeds from all these events resulted in the awarding of 16 scholarships in 2018 and 50 scholarships in 2019. The academic scholarship awardees were selected using criteria that gave preference to students with a single parent and with very low or no income.

Mukund Manohar, President of ISMA noted, “As Alumni, we have immensely benefited from the education and life lessons we have learnt at Indian School Muscat. The school is close to our hearts and we all owe a debt of gratitude to this institution, its teachers and the entire school community. It is only right we give back to the school community and make education available to all. It is with this vision that we established our scholarship program and we hope to continue this initiative over the years to come and ensure that every student gets a quality education at ISM, irrespective of their financial position”.
