Middle section of Indian School Muscat celebrates 45th annual day

Muscat: The Middle Section of Indian School Muscat celebrated its 45th Annual Day on Monday, November 25, 2019 in the New Multipurpose Hall of the school. The Chief Guest – H.H Sayyida Mayya Al Said, Patron of HerStory at the Arabian Stories and the Guest of Honour- Mr. Ajay Kummar J- President, Indian School Muscat Management Committee graced the occasion. The eminent dignitaries were accorded a warm welcome by the Vice – President, Convenor, Treasurer of the SMC – ISM,  esteemed school management committee members, Principal- Dr. Rajeev Kumar Chauhan, Senior Vice- Principal -Administration, Advisor to the Principal , Vice- Principals and Assistant Vice-Principals of various sections, teachers , student council members and the students of classes 5 and 6 who were dressed in traditional attires of Oman and India.

The prestigious occasion commenced with the rendition of the Royal Anthem of Oman and the National Anthem of India followed by the lighting of the lamp. The Head Boy of the Middle Section Joshua Alex extended a cordial welcome to the august gathering. 

The Middle Section students held the audience rapt in attention with their outstanding performances. The impressive spectacle was replete with mesmerising songs, captivating dances, enriching instrumental music and a spectacular face-off with live canvas painting on stage. The show was a fitting tribute to the great institution. The décor, ambience, costumes and props were in perfect sync with a celebration of such magnitude. 

The Digital Presentation acquainted the august gathering with the great accomplishments of the school in both curricular and co-curricular arenas as well as the new initiatives introduced during the academic year 2018-2019. 267 award winners from classes V to VIII of the Middle Section who made academic excellence a priority in the pursuit of their education were felicitated on this special day. The students of classes 5 and 6, who secured A1s all the subjects were felicitated by the Guest of Honour, Mr. Ajaykummar J. In his address, Mr. Ajaykummar J exhorted the students to explore all the opportunities open to them in academic and non- academic fields. He also encouraged the students indulge in healthy competition and set their own benchmarks. 

The Chief Guest H.H. Sayyida Mayya Al Said felicitated the meritorious students of classes 7 and 8. The Chief Guest applauded the school for its 45 years of success in grooming young talents. Her Highness encouraged the students to pursue their dreams relentlessly and make their dreams come true. The teachers who completed 10 and 20 years of service in the school were felicitated for their loyalty and were acknowledged for their dedication and commitment. As a token of appreciation, the Chief Guest was presented with an art work done by one of the students. The Principal, Dr Rajeev Kumar Chauhan praised the students of the Middle Section for their extraordinary academic achievement. The enthralling and exhilarating cultural extravaganza had the dignitaries and the entire parent community feel proud of the innate talent possessed by their wards. He added that Team work of the staff is the reason for this great achievement of the  students. 

The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by the Head Girl. The curtain fell on the splendid occasion with the promise to dream more, inspire more and create more.
