Muscat: The Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman is to host the first edition of Indian Schools Talent Fest- (ISTF) at Indian School Muscat. ISTF is a variant of the Inter-School panorama of cultural events formerly popular as Jhankaar Spectrum,on 31st October and 1stNovember, 2019. His Excellency Shri Munu Mahawar, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman will inaugurate this much-admired and impressive event, which will be followed by oath taking and hoisting of the ISTF flag.
An Overview: The platform of this resolve and competency, flagged-off in 2006 in a humble manner,did not evolve overnight. The present stature of this exciting event is the outcome of the collective and consolidated efforts of all former Board of Directors, School Management Committees, Principals and Event Managers who have visualized and fostered it to benefit all Indian students in the Sultanate. With each edition notable modifications were brought-in to adapt to the skills and capabilities of the participants. Now it has assumed an amazing stature and stands as the single event in the Sultanate to claim the participation of more than 1800 contestants testing their mettle with their counterparts within a single campus. This year it has undergone a new face lift with the timely and much required enhancements, with the expert guidance of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman. Indian Schools Talent Fest – ISTF is ready to be the star programme of all Indian Schools in the Sultanate, hereafter.
Features and specialties: Positioned as the leading art and cultural extravaganza organized by any educational body in the Middle East, this mammoth event will showcase 1800 plus participants and their talents in 27 events and a novel event- Unique Talent Recognition– UTAR,to be held over two days at 9 different venues at Indian School Muscat premises.UTAR is an event conceptualized and inducted into this confluence of talents to recognize and encourage children gifted with various talents other than those included in the competition. It is an initiative by the present Board of Directors, intended to pave the way for bringing unique talents of the students to the limelight and to provide them a platform to exhibit their unique talents.

A host of much awaited events, lined up for the big day include, Contemporary Dance (Group) , Indian Classical Dance (Group), Street Play (Group), Elocution in English (Senior), Indian Folk Song (Group), Western Choral Singing (Group), Extempore Speech in English (Senior), Western Keyboard (Solo), Flip in English (Senior), Graffiti Making (Group), Rock Band (Group), Indian Folk Dance (Group), Mime (Group), Indian Classical Dance (Solo), Bharatanatyam (Solo), Stand Up Comedy (Solo), Western Vocal (Solo), Poetry Recitation in Hindi (Junior), Carnatic Vocal (Solo), Elocution in English (Junior), Narrating a Tall Tale in English (Junior), Poetry Recitation in English (Junior), Create a TV Advertisement (Group), Digital Photography & Album Making (Group), Rangoli (Group), Collage (Group), Indian Light Vocal (Solo) and UTAR.
For over twelve years, this event has witnessed massive talent around. Experts from various fields of art and culture will adjudicate the performances of the enthusiastic participants.
Closing Ceremony: This carnival of talents will conclude with the valedictory function at 4.30 pm on 1st November 2019.Dr. Baby Sam Saamuel, Chairman Board of Directors Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The summit of this event will be the much anticipated declaration of results and prize distribution ceremony. The lowering of the ISTF flag will bring with it a promise for the show to go on forever.
