Muscat: The Ministry of Transport and Communications has dismissed claims that landslides have closed down the Hasik-Shwaimiyah road in the Governorate of Dhofar.
In a statement issued online on Thursday, the ministry said its a “mere rumour” and what is circulating is an old image. “There is no truth to the rumour that a landslide has closed Hasik-Shwaimiyah road in Dhofar.”
A section of people on social media was circulating the image stating that the road is currently closed. However, the ministry had this to say: “The road is currently in service. The image in circulation is an old one and the ministry had already dealt with the landslide when it first occurred.”
