Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Health has replaced nearly 3,000 expatriates working in the health sector in the last four years and integrates more Omanis in its workforce, Dr Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health has informed on Sunday.
Revealing the details of the 2018 job statistical report, Dr. Ahmed Al Said said there are around 39,220 employees in health sector with an Omanisation rate of 71 per cent.
“From 2015 to June 2019, 2,869 expatriates were replaced by Omani employees, and the rate of Omanisation reached 71 percent by the end of 2018,” the Minister noted.

According to the report made available to The Arabian Stories, 39 per cent of doctors are working in the government hospitals across all specialisations.
According to the minister, 90 per cent of pharmacists are Omanis while 62 per cent of nurses in all government health institutions are Omanis.
