Mangaluru: An Air India flight from Dubai on Sunday veered off the taxiway after landing at the Mangaluru airport.
After veering off its direction, the IX384 Air India Express got stuck in the grass at the airport.
The incident happened at around 5:40 pm when the IX384 Air India Express Dubai to Mangaluru flight landed at the airport.
In 2010, on the same runway, a plane had crashed claiming 158 lives.
The Air India flight, according to the reports, will be towed soon. It will be checked by the Air India Express engineers, a Mangaluru airport official said.
All the passengers are safe and have been deboarded, the official said. An internal investigation has also been initiated in the incident.
The official said, “All passengers are safe and the aircraft is being checked by Air India Express engineers. An internal investigation has been ordered, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been informed about the incident.”
