MUSCAT: Residents were evacuated safely on Wednesday after a fire broke out in an apartment in Al Khoud, in the Wilayat of Seeb.
At least three fire engines were pressed into service after the fire was noticed in a building in Al Khoud.

According to the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA), the stranded individuals were evacuated using a hydraulic crane. No injuries were reported.

Later in a statement issued on Twitter, PACDA said: ” The rescue team from the department of civil defence and ambulance in Muscat managed to extinguish a fire that broke out in an apartment building in the area of Al Khoud in wilayat Seeb. The building was evacuated and the stranded individuals were rescued using a hydraulic crane, without recording any injures.”
