The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) has introduced new RO50 note comprising additional security features with effect from June 2, 2019. The new note will be in circulation as legal tender along with the existing note.
Here are the four things you need to know about the new OMR 50 note
- As part of the additional security features, the new note will have on the front side a golden security patch window (Varifeye CC Patch) showing the following: the denomination, CBO’s main entrance, name of the Central Bank of Oman in Arabic and English, and the colour of the window changes from gold to blue under any light.
2. The golden magnetic windowed security thread (RollingStar Security Thread) on the note changes from gold to green when tilted.

3. It also has a Spark Live Truspin in the shape of a crown that changes its colour from gold to green when the note is tilted.
4. On the reverse side, the golden security patch window (Varifeye CC Patch) on the left side of the note changes from gold to blue under any light.
