MUSCAT: 12 flights at Muscat International Airport were disrupted on Thursday afternoon, following a Iran flight tyre burst, led to the closure of the runway, officials said.
According to sources Iranian flight Qeshm Air suffered multiple tyre bursts on landing at 0800GST (0400UTC) on Thursday. The airport was closed to traffic until the aircraft was removed from the runway.
Oman Airports officials said that operations at Muscat International Airport have returned back to normal since the incident.

“We would like to draw the attention of passengers to and from Muscat International Airport today, April 25, 2019, to the fact that the Muscat International Airport’s operations have returned back to normal after an incident occurred this afternoon.
“The concerned team in Oman Airports along with the concerned parties of our stakeholders has dealt with the airplane incident, which landed safely and led to a complete closure of the runway. The usual procedures for similar conditions were taken to ensure the safety of passengers and crew,” the statement by Oman Airports read.
According to the statement 12 flights at the Muscat International Airport were also affected due to the closure.
