MUSCAT:Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) will provide more than 16,000 jobs for nationals this year, a top official of the company said on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters during the annual briefing, Raoul Restucci, Managing Director of PDO said the company had last year provided 17,027 jobs to Omanis. “This will continue and we are aiming to provide more than 16,000 this year,” Restucci said.
From 2011 to 2018, PDO provided 55,000 job opportunities.

Meanwhile, Salim Al Aufi, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Oil and Gas said more than 14,000 Omani employees are currently working in the oil and gas sector. “We currently have 82% of Omanis working in the oil and gas sector, bringing the total number of employees by the end of 2018 to 14,927.”
