925 prisoners released under Fak Kurba initiative by Omani Lawyers Association

MUSCAT– The Omani Lawyers Association, which is supervising the humanitarian initiative, announced at a press conference yesterday, that a total of 925 prisoners, who met the conditions of the initiative were released this year from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. Dr. Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al Zadjali, member of the Shura Council, representative of the Sohar, supervisor of the initiative, and the President of OLA, explained that the cases released this year were distributed among all the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The Governorate of Muscat recorded the highest, with 194 cases, followed by the Governorate of North Al Batinah with 191 cases, the Governorate of South Al Batinah with 122 cases, and the Governorate of Al Dhahirah with 97 cases. Al Buraimi Governorate recorded 87 cases, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate 79 cases, Al Sharqiyah North Governorate with 59 cases, followed by Al Sharqiyah South Governorate with 40 cases, Dhofar Governorate with 33 cases, Al Wusta Governorate with 20 cases, and Musandam Governorate with 3 cases. He attributed the success of the initiative to constructive cooperation and communication with government and private institutions and individuals, who spread the humanitarian message through their media platforms.
