MUSCAT – The three day event, unfolding under the theme of ‘Integration and Empowerment’, will include training workshops, dialogues sessions, and theatrical presentations, among a host of other events. The forum is organized by the Ministry of Social Development, in partnership with Oman Energy Association, to promote and empower people with disabilities. It will be attended by representatives of more than 65 governmental, private, local and international establishments, civil society institutions and more than 20 private organizations. It will look into the employment of persons with disabilities, among other issues.
As per the Ministry’s program, the first day’s schedule includes talk from Iqab Qasim Al-Badarneh, an occupational therapist and rehabilitation counselor at the Sanad Village Resort for the Rehabilitation of People of Determination, followed by three training workshops on use of assistive technology, digital access and comprehensive accessibility for people with disabilities. Other programs include Ibri Youth Theatrical Ensemble, specialist theatre, dialogue session on cultural, sports and youth empowerment of persons with disabilities, etc.
