Muscat: Galfar Engineering and Construction has denied allegations of financial misappropriation of OMR 4 million concerning a former employee. In a statement to Muscat Securities Market (MSM), Galfar denied reports circulating on social media.
“Referring to the news circulated in the social media since September 12 with regard to the news that an employee of Galfar misappropriated OMR 4 million, we would like to clarify that this news is not true. No money has been misappropriated from the company,” Galfar said in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, a whistleblower had informed the company of a fraud committed by an ex-employee with third parties, which is under investigation by the public prosecution.

“The current internal legal and management view is that there is no liability to the company in regard to this matter. “
Through the statement, Galfar also informed that it will pay all pending dues by next week. “With regard to delayed salary payment, we would like to inform you that, it is primarily due to the prolonged payments of the company’s overdue payments by its big clients for very long period and the company is committed to pay all salaries during next week,” the statement added.
