MUSCAT: Oman thwarted more than 430,000 cyberattacks in 2018, according the country’s to the Information Technology Authority (ITA).
Interestingly, more than 70,000 attacks were attempted against websites operating from Oman last year. This was revealed during the Cybersecurity drill started at the Kempinski Hotel at Al Mouj Muscat on Monday.
“There were 432,978 attempted cyber attacks in Oman during 2018, more than 71,000 cyber attacks on Omani websites and 203 cases of malicious software in 2018,” the statement from ITA read.
