MUSCAT: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has called on everyone to take precaution during thunderstorms that are expected on Monday and Tuesday.
The General Traffic Department has also urged motorists to exercise caution, especially when the level of horizontal visibility decreases.
According to CAA notice, thunderstorms in the governorates of Dhofar, Al Wusta and South Al Sharqiyah, may range from 20 to 100 millimeters (within 24 hours), with chances of sporadic rain in the rest of the governorates of the Sultanate.
The Authority advises everyone to take precautions and not to cross valleys, avoid low places, and the sea during the warning period.

The alert will be on from Monday 12 noon until Tuesday 7am.
The expected effect during the alert period includes the flow of reefs and valleys in a sweeping manner in some areas, accompanied by active downward winds, at times with hailstones. There will be decreased horizontal visibility during thunderstorms to less than 1,000 meters.
