MUSCAT – H.E. Idris Abdul Rahman Alkhanjari, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman, affirmed, on behalf of the GCC countries, that insulting religious sanctity and acts of religious hatred and contempt, such as burning of the Noble Quran, is clear evidence of the seriousness of intolerance and hate crimes. He highlighted the importance of taking all means to confront them. He also highlighted increasing discrimination, religious intolerance and attacks on religious sites, during the Interactive Dialogue on Freedom of Religion or Belief.
