MUSCAT : His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, the former Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs died on Tuesday, sources close to his family have informed The Arabian Stories.
Al Busaidi who won the supreme trust of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur assumed the position of Minister of Defence Affairs in 1997 and retired in 2020. Al Busaidi served the country for over 40 years. He had previously held the position of Ambassador to Egypt and Jordan. He was also the Minister of Interior from 1979 to 1997. He was also conferred with the Order of the Rising Sun from Japan for his outstanding contributions to enhance defence cooperation between Japan and the Sultanate of Oman.
