MUSCAT – The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to the session, which will continue until March 17th, is represented by Ambassador Dr. Mohammed bin Awad Al Hassan, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations in New York, and officials from the Ministry of Social Development. The current session reviews the progress made by member states with regard to enhancing the status of women, innovation, technological change, education in the digital age, and good practices for bridging the digital gender gap, in addition to promoting education in the digital age.

The members of the delegation will also participate in some events on the sidelines of the committee meetings. As per the schedule, H.E. Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al-Najjar, Minister of Social Development, will deliver a recorded speech to the conference, during which she will review the efforts made by the government of the Sultanate of Oman to enhance the status of women and their enjoyment of all rights in accordance with the laws approved by the government. This year’s theme of UNCSW is ‘Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls’.
