MUSCAT– Indian School Muscat Alumni (ISMA) held their third edition of the ISMA Cricket Tournament on February 19th 2023, at the Al Amerat Oman Cricket Turf Ground 2. The Tournament featured 60 Alumni from Indian School Muscat who competed in a series of round-robin cricket matches with 8 overs a side.
Through this event, ISMA raised funds for their KINDLE Initiative, where they provide a platform to fund the education and advancement of children from low-income families. Since the inception in 2017, ISMA team gave out tuition fee scholarships to over 90 students of ISM who come from low income and deserving families.

The 4 ISMA teams namely ISMA Gladiators, ISMA Challengers, ISMA Titans and ISMA Spartans captained by Amit Sampat, Wasim Ali, Adnan Nalwala and Darwish Elickal respectively, played a total 6 matches, with each team playing every other team. ISMA Challengers emerged victorious by winning all their 3 matches. ISMA Spartans, on the other hand, finished as runners-up.
Mr. Syed Salman Ali, Board Member, Board of Directors of the Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and awarded the winning trophy and medals to the players. The tournament was also attended by Mr. Suhail Khan, Honorary Sports & Entertainment Secretary, Indian Social Club Muscat, the Staff and Members of the School Management Committee of Indian School Muscat.

Best Batsman: Vishwanath Bhaskaran (Gladiators)
Best Wicket Keeper: Nikhil Chandrashekar (Spartans)
Best Fielder: Wasim Ali (Challengers)
Best Emerging Value Player: Kiran Joshi (Challengers)
Most Boundaries & Sixes: Jatinder Singh (Gladiators)
Man of the Match (Game 1): Vicky Mandaviya (Gladiators)
Man of the Match (Game 2): Wasim Ali (Challengers)
Man of the Match (Game 3): Dr Shahid Khan (Challengers)
Man of the Match (Game 4): Nikhil Chandrashekar (Spartans)
Man of the Match (Game 5): Bishen Singh Bhalla (Spartans)
Man of the Match (Game 6): Kiran Joshi (Challengers)

The tournament was attended by Alumni from Oman and abroad along with their families in support of this cause. The ISMA Committee extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to all the sponsors and patrons who have generously supported their goal of providing education to those who need it the most.

Winning was not the motto. Just being a part of this noble initiative has been the driving force mentioned by one of the alumni who came from Dubai.
