Oman and Tunisia to enhance bilateral cooperation in investment fields

Dr. Hilal bin Abdullah Al-Sanani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman accredited to Tunisia, affirmed that the Omani-Tunisian relations are on the verge of further cooperation, development and expansion, especially in economic, trade and investment fields

MUSCAT – The Ambassador noted that Omani-Tunisian relations have achieved steady growth in several areas, and explained that the embassy is making efforts to attract major Tunisian companies to invest in the Sultanate of Oman.
In this regard, several meetings were held and visits to the Sultanate of Oman were arranged for a group of Tunisian investors to explore areas of cooperation between the two brotherly countries. His Excellency also pointed out that the work of the Omani-Tunisian Committee has culminated in the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding, which constitute an important tributary for cooperation between the two countries in various common fields.

28 agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed and 32 are in the process of getting signed, the most important of which are in the areas of cultural, educational, artistic, media, and health cooperation, in addition to investment encouragement, avoidance of double taxation, environment, climate affairs, and nature conservation, as well as an agreement in the field of restoration of monuments, a memorandum in the field of tourism cooperation, and in technical education and vocational training. He further stated that the Omani embassy in the Republic of Tunisia is working to contribute to promote Oman and its investment components and incentives in line with Oman’s Vision 2040, which focuses on developing the private sector and investment and strengthening international cooperation to attract investments and enhance economic diversification.
