Oman’s Tourism Ministry to launch A’Dakhiliyah Festival on Feb 23

MUSCAT – The Festival, which will be held from February 23 to March 4 in a number of wilayats of the Governorate, includes heritage and entertainment activities, and tourism experiences, stated a Ministry announcement. The launch of the Festival will also coincide with the official opening of the Bisya and Salut Archaeological Visitor Center in the Wilayat of Bahla on Thursday, February 23.

The Festival aims to create attractive tourism activities for the Dakhiliyah Governorate, increase the governorate’s tourist attraction, familiarise tourist destinations in its wilayats, introduce cultural and historical heritage, involve small and medium enterprises and members of the local community, increase economic returns for them, and raise the occupancy rate of hotel establishments.



The festival’s activities will be held in a number of places and tourist sites in a number of wilayats of the governorate. The program of the festival’s activities will include the implementation of many distinctive tourist experiences, such as simulating daily life in castles, making Omani sweets, experiencing Omani barbecue and pottery making, which will be open for visitors to experience. The festival will also include folklore performances, horse and camel shows, paragliding, youth initiatives exhibition, youth dialogue session, traditional markets and artisan markets, entertainment games for young and old, theater for accompanying events, Omani sweets industry, and tours.
