MUSCAT : The ancient village of Halhal in Wadi Bani Kharus is distinguished by the diversity of its geographical topography and archaeological finds. One can find old settlements here built with mud, stones, and wood of perennial trees such as al-Aalan, al-Atm, and al-Bout. Over time, the houses built with stones were turned into stores for agricultural products, fertilizers, and other tillage tools.

The climate of the village is similar to that of the Wilayat of Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar in Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate. The fertile nature of the soil here makes this village famous for pomegranates, lemons, quinces, peaches, apricots, figs, grapes, and several types of seasonal crops. However, this beautiful village in the lap of nature is known for more than its beauty or archaeological value. Halhal witnesses a tourist movement throughout the year, especially tourists with a knack for mountain hiking and adventure tourism.
