MUSCAT- As part of the principle of transparency and in order to facilitate the completion of their transactions at the required speed, and as a matter of adherence to ministerial decisions issued in this regard, the Ministry of Health has announced the requirements for submitting citizens’ requests for treatment abroad.
The Department of Treatment Abroad Affairs at the Ministry of Health has announced that citizens’ requests for treatment abroad can be submitted only through email (myrequestto-ta@moh.gov.om) and WhatsApp service (24946385). One needs to keep in mind that it is required that the application be sent clearly including the following attachments in order for it to be presented to the National Committee for Treatment Abroad for study and decision: a formal letter of request, recommendation of a medical report from the patient’s attending physician that treatment is not available in government hospitals, a medical report, a statement from a government hospital in the Sultanate (issuance date not exceeding the last six months), and the civil number and contact numbers.
After presenting the application to the National Committee for Treatment Abroad within two working weeks, one will be informed of the committee’s decision via e-mail, or a text message via WhatsApp on the numbers attached to the application.
