Bidiyah sand race begins with 25 participants

The Bidiyah sand race kicked off today as part of the fifth and final station of the winter sports events.

MUSCAT : The sand running race, organized by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, represented by the Heritage and Tourism Department in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, officially commenced today with more than 25 participants in the Wilayat of Bidiyah.

This race is part of the fifth and final station of the winter sports events held in various parts of the governorate. For the professional category of the sand race, the distance to be covered is 10km, and for the amateur category, it is 5km. The race begins in front of the Desert Nights Camp.

The race track passes by a number of archaeological, historical, and tourist sites in the wilayat of Bidiyah, and the winners of the first three places are honored by Mohammed bin Nasser Al Hajri, a member of the municipal council in Bidiyah, and the sponsor of the occasion.
