MUSCAT: The 4-day festival, which coincides with the establishment of the ‘Future of Media Exhibition (Fumex)’, includes 30 workshops, a special session on radio and TV production, sports media and stardom, as well as a set of sessions dealing with the participation of women in the media and their role in cinema products. It also includes seminars on film industry and the future of the media.
Media establishments taking part in the Arab Radio and Television Festival will sign media cooperation partnerships on the sidelines of the accompanying exposition. The festival sees the participation of as many as 200 media establishments.
The final day of the festival will also see the felicitation of winners of competitions on radio news and television news programmes produced by authorities that are members of the Arab States Broadcasting Union, a concurrent competition designed programmes and news produced by private Arab radio and TV services and production firms other than member units.
It is the first time that the festival is held outside Tunisia, the venue of headquarters of the Arab States Broadcasting Union.
