MUSCAT: The news agency noted that the Sultanate of Oman has a huge potential to produce green hydrogen with the availability of solar energy, and also that it has papers on hand to initiate the project. It also stated that this resource is an important clean alternative to fossil fuels, especially in industries and heavy transportation businesses, pointing out that its production by electrolysis of water requires the use of a lot of electricity.
If it is produced by renewable energies, via solar panels and wind turbines, the hydrogen qualifies to be environmentally friendly.
