MUSCAT : H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Hamaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, reviewed the ‘Muttrah Tourist Trail’ through a virtual reality simulation technology, along with H.E. Azzan bin Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of Tourism, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
The project comes within the framework of the government’s direction to employ information technology in the services provided by its institutions, so as to improve their quality and integration with the relevant authorities.
The presentation included viewing the tourist path of Muttrah and seeing the landmarks and tourist attractions that it includes. This was done by utilizing the latest two technologies in the world: ‘Metaverse’ and ‘Scanner Camera’. These technologies were used to simulate reality in a professional and high quality manner, by transferring the reality of the real path to the virtual world.
