MUSCAT : Continuing to raise awareness and educate the public about electrical hazards and the importance of adopting safety measures, the Muscat Electricity Distribution Company has issued an announcement to highlight common electrical dangers. It has called on the public to report any of the following potential hazards:
• Finding exposed and unsafe ground electrical cables.
• Finding the doors of electrical distribution stations and electrical boxes in an open and unsafe position.

• Monitoring an unsafe situation related to the overhead power line wires and poles (overhead lines).
The company also cautioned the public against planting trees near power stations or below overhead electric lines, which may lead to contact with wires and pose risks such as service interruptions and fires. It stated that the damage may affect any individual in the community, whether it is power outage or electric shock, which may lead to death.
