MUSCAT: Bodour, who is enrolled in the eleventh grade at Raydan Private School, won the first place in the Gulf Hackathon competition in the applications of artificial intelligence in general education.

In a statement to the Agency, the student expressed her happiness for being chosen to represent the Sultanate of Oman in the Gulf Observatory for Artificial Intelligence in Riyadh.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali bin Mahad Fadel, Head of the Innovation and Scientific Olympiad Department at the Directorate General of Education in Dhofar Governorate, said that Bodour Al-Yafiya participated with a group of students from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, all of who received training in the applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as their utilization in the field of education.

The aim of this competition was to spread students’ experiences in artificial intelligence in the field of education and create communities of practice in this field. It also focused on building interdisciplinary experiences and disseminating and enhancing the concepts of artificial intelligence in the member states of the office through the transfer of international experiences in this field.
