MUSCAT : With Nizwa Industrial City endeavouring to play a pivotal role in accelerating the development of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and the neighbouring areas, especially in infrastructure, the investments covered a host of projects in industrial, service and commercial sectors.
According to Ahmed bin Salem Al Hajri, Director General of Nizwa Industrial City, “The Industrial City has attracted many investors from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman, which has created a diversity of investments, products and job opportunities that these projects provide for young people; the investments in it have added a lot to the local economy, whether through direct employment opportunities, or through indirect opportunities, including services provided to investors, in addition to the exploitation of local raw materials as production inputs for factories.”
One of the most important industrial activities in the city is logistics and technical support for oil and gas projects, food catering services, iron cutting and shaping, furniture and wood industry, plastic industries (pipes and tanks), building materials and liquefied gas products and glass industry among others.

The total area of Nizwa Industrial City is about 7,213,788 square meters, with an occupancy rate of more than 45%. The total number of workers in the city’s factories reached about 6000 in various administrative and technical disciplines, with an Omanisation rate of 42% of the total workforce.
