MUSCAT: The workshop aims to encourage job seekers to engage in self-employment initiatives in the Sultanate of Oman, which is witnessing increasing growth at the local and international levels. This initiative comes to develop the self-employment environment and provide social protection for workers who choose this path in their working lives. The self-employment package includes incentives and other regulations related to financing, obtaining employment opportunities and contracts in a number of economic fields, in addition to tax privileges.

The National Employment Program is concerned with studying the employment system through supply and demand; finding sustainable employment solutions and developing the work environment. The Program’s initiatives include the development of qualitative training programs to enhance databases and legislation regulating the labor market, and the development of training and qualification system for Omani cadres, including the requirements of graduates and future graduates.  

The program contributes to achieving the goals sought by Oman Vision 2040 in developing the economic sectors, providing attractive job opportunities for young people, developing preparation and capacity-building programs in line with the actual needs of the Omani labor market, and ensuring the readiness of graduates for immediate employment.
