MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health, in an announcement on Twitter, has issued an alert to draw attention of the public on the use of the following full-face masks and nasal masks used with BiPA and CPAP devices from Philips Respironics
• Amara View Minimal Contact Full-Face Mask
• Dream Wear Full Face Mask
• Dream Wisp Nasal Mask with over the Nose Cushin
• Wisp nasal masks
• Wisp youth nasal masks

“These masks contain magnets that affect the devices implanted for patients and their household members and caregivers that may be close to patients.

“Therefore, patients should stop using the affected mask if the implant medical device is contraindicated against the mask magnets. Patients should consult the physician to determine if another mask can be used for therapy. After an alternative is obtained, dispose of the mask with magnets after contacting the local agent,” it stated.
