MUSCAT: The latest Forbes 100 richest list has no surprises this time, for a change, as most richest men and women managed to maintain their places.
MA Yusuffali, chairman of Lulu Group with largest retail chain in the Middle East, Joy Alukkas, head of Joyalukkas Group also the largest jewellery in the Asia and Micky Jagtiani, chairman of Landmark Group led Gautam Adani, whose is $150 billion worth, kept their place in the Forbes list of 100 richest.
Alukkas (69th with an estimated fortune of $3.1 billion) is the lone Indian jeweller in the top 100 while Jagtiani gets 73rd rank at $2.9 billion. Yusuffali was 35th in the list. Byju Raveendran, his wife Divya Gokulnath & family with a net worth of $3.6 billion are 54th.

The second world richest Adani gained almost double his fortune this time to an estimated $156 billion to be on the top Indian who declared that he will invest $100 billion in green energy, a Forbes statement said.
The oil and gas to telecom giant Reliance Industries’ chairman Mukesh Ambani is the second richest Indian with an estimated fortune of $88 billion, down from $92.7 billion in 2021. The combo of Adani and Ambani holds 30% of India’s 100 richest.
DMart chain of supermarkets owner Radhakishan Damani broke into the top 10 with an estimated $27.6 billion and is No.3 India’s richest. Cyrus Poonawalla, the vaccine manufacturer from Pune, with an estimated fortune of $21.5 billion is at fourth place.
Shiv Nadar (TCS, $21.4 billion), Savitri Jindal & family (Steel & cement, $16.4 billion), Dilip Shanghvi & family (pharmacy, $15.5 billion), Hinduja brothers (auto to IT, $15.2 billion); Kumar Birla (cement to telecom, $15 billion), and and Bajaj Family (auto, $14.6 billion) completed the top 10.
Nykaa’s CEO Falguni Nayar (44th rank, $4.08 billion), Ravi Modi (garments retailer, 50th rank, $3.75 billion) and Rafique Malik (shoe maker, 89th rank, $2.22 billion) are the three new faces in the top 100.
