MUSCAT: The University of Nizwa is among the top 90 Arab universities and first among private universities and colleges in the Sultanate, according to the latest QS Best Universities ranking list.
On Thursday, Dhofar University, another institution in private sector, has climbed 10 places to be in the 111-120 range of the same list.
Meanwhile, 13 researchers from University of Nizwa have been named in one of the world’s leading research and teaching institutions, the Stanford University’s ‘World’s Top 2% Scientists’ list.

The California based University published its annual ‘World’s Top 2% Scientists list – featuring the most widely cited scientists in different disciplines – early this week and 13 researchers from the University of Nizwa have made it to the list. The achievement is a new scientific honor to the Omani university as entering Stanford list is considered rare as top 2% of the world’s scientists are from the US institution.
