MUSCAT : The Oman British Investment Forum, organized today by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in cooperation with the British Embassy in Muscat, highlighted opportunities for investment in the Sultanate of Oman in a number of promising sectors, including renewable energy and green hydrogen among others.

In a speech delivered during the Forum, H.E. Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said that the meeting comes in light of the interest in the British market, as it is the largest investment partner of the Sultanate of Oman. This partnership has expanded in the past few years to include several sectors, most notably oil and gas, technology, infrastructure and education, and the United Kingdom is at the forefront of foreign direct investment in the Sultanate of Oman.

He further added that the Ministry seeks to attract quality investments to the Sultanate of Oman through the economic stimulus plan and the National Program for Investment and Export Developments, which analyzes the investment environment for local and foreign capital, and the challenges it faces and the appropriate mechanisms to improve them.

H.E. Bill Murray, UK Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, also referred to the areas of cooperation in the investment and trade sectors between the two friendly countries, calling on investors from both countries to enhance investment in energy fields and benefit from Omani ports and economic and free zones, in light of the advantages and incentives they offer.
