MUSCAT: Omani Women’s Day celebrations, at all the centres of the Association in the country, highlighted the roles played by women in serving children with disabilities, in terms of training, rehabilitation, supervision, facilitating training seminars, leadership workshops and building relationships with different organizations, so as to serve the children, as well as to enhance communication skills between the children and their families in integrating them into society.
H.H. Sayyida Hujaija bint Jaffar Al Said, Chairperson of the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children, emphasized that women have an important role in the Omani society, as they share joint responsibility with men in creating a generation capable of facing life. She lauded female volunteers in all the rehabilitation centers who play the role of trainer, qualified nurse and mother for the children enrolled in the centers.
“Omani women play a prominent and important role in developing the capabilities of children at the center and providing them with the necessary life skills to prepare them to integrate into society. They are working hard to integrate children into the society and practice normal life, while holding their hands so that they feel appreciated and confident…,” she added.
