MUSCAT : MEDC has issued a warning to create awareness among its subscribers on the use of electric heaters and to provide necessary precautions when using one. It stressed on the need to switch off the power button before using the water, in order to avoid any electrical contact and to carefully follow correct steps while using it.

One of the most common risks is the electrical short circuit due to the failure to connect the device to the electrical grounding, which is important to protect against electrocution in cases of electricity leakage in the heater, as it could lead to death in some cases. It may also occur due to improper installation that is unnoticed by the user.

Care must be taken to ensure the safety of the electrical connections of the heater, as well as to switch the heater off before using the water.
